Folk Canada is honoured to be hosting the Culture in Climate Conversations at the Folk Alliance International Conference in Montreal.
Culture in Climate Conversations is a series of two one-hour sessions focused on the intersection of cultural events and the climate crisis. These discussions will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, policy makers, and funders, including the Dept of Canadian Heritage, Canada Council for the Arts, the Centre for Sustainable Practices in the Arts, Folk Canada, and Indigenous Music Alliance. The sessions will explore the pressing threats climate change poses to cultural practices, the arts, and the economy, while fostering dialogue on how the cultural sector is adapting, innovating, and advocating for sustainability.
These interactive conversations are designed for all individuals invested in the safety, resilience, and economic wellbeing of cultural events. As we face ever-increasing climate-related challenges, these sessions aim to unite the arts community in finding solutions and strategies that can be used to advocate for a for sustainable arts futures. This initiative encourages all participants to engage with the evolving narrative of climate action through creative and cultural lenses.
