Rebekah Hawker: Take Me Back

Releases April 10

Country-folk singer-songwriter Rebekah Hawker returns with “Take Me Back”, the latest single from her upcoming EP Quit My Habit, arriving April 10, 2025.

Rooted in the 100-kilometre stretch between Barrie and Toronto, “Take Me Back” captures the ache of regret and the hopeful desperation of second chances. “It’s a song with its tail between its legs,” Hawker says, “the kind you play when you know you messed up and there’s no denying it.” Featuring haunting piano, the ghostly cry of pedal steel, and layers of banjo, guitar and rich harmonies, the track embodies the tension of making things right—before it’s too late.

Known for her powerful voice and emotionally rich storytelling, Hawker has established an impressive career at lightning pace through her late twenties—opening for acclaimed acts like The Good Lovelies, Rum Ragged, and Jim Cuddy; garnering accolades like winning Mariposa Folk Festival’s Emerging Artist Showcase; and gracing world-class stages like Massey Hall.

“Take Me Back” is a fitting preview of what's to come: songs made for country roads, kitchen slow dances, and car ride sing alongs.
